Thanksgiving Tablescapes

Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays!  I find people are generally happy around this time of the year and this tends to be a time for food, football and hunting.  How could it be bad right!  For us who are the ones cooking and entertaining it can get a little stressful unfortunately? I have pulled together three fantastic levels of Thanksgiving table ideas no matter your budget or level or formality. We have something for everyone starting with China and ending with Walmart paper plates.

Keeping reading for some fantastic ideas.

I am one who loves to use my wedding china.  We don’t currently have a “formal” dining so I have had it packed away for four years.  I decided I am getting it out and we are using it this Thanksgiving! It is a dream of mine to have “special” dinners where my children know how to act in a nicer setting. I have one linen tablecloth that transforms with any season. I pulled all of my pumpkins in from outside and lined my table with them. We have a pheasant Tray harvested a few years ago that I anchored the table with on a cake stand for height.  I added my house plants we already had around the house and candles.  The only thing I purchased for this table was the orange texture wreaths that are under my pumpkins. They were $5. From Hobby Lobby on sale. My kids went to the pumpkin patch 50 times this fall so they brought home a baby pumpkin each time.  Those I utilized on each place setting for additional color and texture.  My linen napkins were $5. On amazon and I had our brand monogrammed on them. I already had these but love to use them.

Set your table a few days beforehand to lessen the stress on the actual day of entertaining.  I also cook days in advance.  This was a lesson I learned from my mama and really helps!

This second option I found paper plates that “look” line china. I found a huge pack of them at Homegoods for $9.00. These adorable napkins were also a Homegoods find. I had the chargers already. however, they were $2. from Hobby Lobby years ago. Again, I utilized my outside pumpkins for the center pieces and added layers of candles I had around the house. My kids LOVE drinking from these Champagne flutes that I found at Walmart for $1.00. They are a total hit around our house. The thanksgiving straws were $2.68 from Walmart. My kiddos thought they were the coolest thing.

Again, I used my one and only tablecloth. Keeping this simple totally worked. I spent under $30. For all.

For my super casual readers on a budget I spent Under $10.00 for this setting to serve 8.

8 Plates $2.68 – Walmart

20 Napkins $2.68 – Walmart

Gobble Wobble Cups $3.25 ½ off at Hobby Lobby

With this version I omitted the tablecloth. Added a couple of house plants and pumpkins and called it a day.  This took two seconds and turned out surprisingly adorable!

Regardless of how you set your table let’s keep some things in perspective.

IF you have the luxury of being with loved ones enjoy them!

IF you are healthy this Thanksgiving – Be THANKFUL

IF you are having to work this thanksgiving be thankful you have work!

Wherever you are in your journey – Give thanks and remember – nobody really cares what your table looks like. Fill the room with laughs and fun memories.

If you can cook a good meal do it. Just remember to give thanks.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
